What's your aperitif of choice, and why does it resonate with you?
I love a glass of champagne. Celebratory, light, and the marker of an occasion.

What do you wish you had known when you started this career ?
It takes a long time to build a lasting, impactful business. When I started out, people would say it takes at least five years. I’m coming up to ten and feel like I’m just getting started.

What is your relationship to dressing up, what role does it play in your life ?
I love clothes. I’m a collector. I like identifying amazing pieces, and really fall in love. I spend time looking for cult pieces online, and I find it hard to throw things away. Power dressing is an amazing accessory to a business owner!

Tell us about a woman who’s had a lasting influence on your life or whom you deeply admire.
It is hard to pick one. I am constantly inspired by my entrepreneurial peers, who are pushing the bar in their respective industries.

What ignites your passion and makes you feel most alive in your work?
I love creating - I am best from 0 - 1 in a business, and I now work with people who are incredible at that 1 - 10 stage. Conceptualising an idea and seeing it into reality is so energising. Currently at Ruuby, this is taking the shape of new market launches. I love seeing Ruuby find its place in new geographies, and building out the brand identity as part of the process.

What events or moments have shaped your journey, both personally and/or professionally?
One thing that has stood out to me as something that has had a real impact on my character has been the experience of living in multiple countries. I grew up in Australia, moved to London and had a stint in Kenya in the middle. Change is important, and I like the idea of different seasons in different places.
I am also mother to two little girls, and having children has given me a sense of perspective, which has helped me find a balance I hadn’t experienced before.

Do you have any regrets?
I probably could have studied a little harder at university! It was an incredible opportunity for learning, but my attention was often elsewhere…
